Pre-install query

Hi,

My network compries:
Server: running Ubuntu 10.04 LTS Server (no GUI), up 24/7
PC1: running Ubuntu 11.04 Desktop (with GUI), up on demand
PC2-4: running various Windows versions from XP to 7, up on demand (not really in the equation but for completeness)
TV: SONY (2010 model)

My understanding, from research I have done on the net, is that my installation would be as follows:
SERVIIO installed on Server and PC1. Server will run serviio.sh, PC1 will run serviio-console.sh (with linking to Server). Music, pictures and video libraries stored on external USB hard disk mounted on Server/mnt/OurMedia updated regularly with new additions.

My question is:
Which machine will maintain the SERVIIO database? Will it be 'Server', on 24/7, or 'PC1' which is only on when required.

Kind regards

Serviio is very suited to being installed on a headless server so you shouldn't have any problems.

The server will maintain the db, the console running on PC1 is only needed for configuration.

Once the webui's are updated to fully support 1.0, you can skip serviio-console .sh and use your browser to manage the server, or if you have an android device, use ServiiDroid.
