I am new to Serviio and I need some help. I have been through the FAQ, the Wiki and the forum but I am still doing something wrong when it comes to online resources and plugins. Serviio is running on my server, I can stream local video and audio to my Samsung tv and my iPhone but I can't get any online services working. I have the plugins in the correct folder, I also have http://www.syfy.com/videos/Insane%20or% ... 20Episodes as an RSS feed within Serviio but the Online folder on the iPhone or TV are empty, what am I doing wrong?

You need to create a plugin to extract video stream.
viewforum.php?f=21

Beauregard you need the Syfy.com Plugin from here viewtopic.php?f=20&t=6546 in your serviio plugins folder. Setup your url as a
Web Resource not an RSS feed.

Guys,

Thanks for the replies, I have got the plugin sat in the Serviio plugins folder and I have tried several of the Syfy URL's, If I set them as an RSS feed there is nothing in the Online folder within Serviio, if I set them as a web resource then go into Online within Serviio I see a folder called Eureka but it is empty, I have left it connected for a few hours but the folder just stays empty.

By default I have the UPNP service disabled on the computer that runs Serviio server, when I get home this afternoon I will see if it is still disabled and if so enable it and see what happens.

If you are on Linux make sure your FFMpeg is up-to-date.

Zip, do you think that you could implement "something" to check that ffmpeg version is consistent/compatible with current serviio version ?

The machine running Serviio server is an XP pro machine so FFMpeg should not be an issue, I enabled UPNP but still nothing in the online folder. Time to replace the server and move over to Windows 7. The good news is that local resourcees stream fine which was the main reason for runningServiio.

enable detailed logging, try to add an online stream and post the log.

Just wanted to say thanks for the replies, I changed my server for a newer machine and when I installed Serviio the online streaming worked first time. No idea what I was doing wrong the first time but all sorted now.
