How to play MKV with AC3 on VLC (android)?

The question sort of says it all, it seems VLC on Andoid can play almost anything i thow at it exept MKVs with AC3 sound (and maybe DTS, not quite sure).
The video shows up in the server but just wont play. I would prefer to assign a profile to these devices to transcode the sound emediatly, but then i guess i would loose skip forward, rewind etc? Not optimal but i would rather the kids could at least play the file than not at all. Any other options? If not, could someone help me with a profile for this? I have tried to assign the hidden Android and Android Legacy, but neither can play the file. The ServiiGo profile did nothing, and I would prefer to not use the app on the kids pad but rather do the job on the server side.

Here's the info of the specific file, almost anything else seems to work fine. Have I misunderstood anything? Any tips`?

Re: How to play MKV with AC3 on VLC (android)?

Sorry. The only Android device I have is the Nvidia Shield, and it plays absolutely everything I throw at it. I have VLC on it, but mostly use Kodi or MrMC. Exactly what Android device are you using?

Re: How to play MKV with AC3 on VLC (android)?

Yes. Kodi, MrMC, VLC, and many other player apps support uPnP, which is what DLNA is considered. So Serviio is an available media source. You have to enable it in Kodi under the expert settings, otherwise uPnP isn't an available source.

One thing I don't like about Kodi is that video will not stop playback when using the back button on the remote. But there's a key mapper app that allows mapping the back button to also stop playback. MrMC doesn't have that issue, nor does VLC. However, neither of those players display any metadata from Serviio, other than the DVD cover image. Kodi at least offers the title synopsis.
