Upheld framework properties

What does - Xmx...m memory choice in the "Upheld framework properties" do and how could it be arranged?

What will set off memory deficiencies?
Speed Test xender snaptube
I have one server set to - Xmx1024m (two times the fundamental memory).
What influence/benefit does it have for execution, record taking care of, sound (counting dealing with huge hello res documents) or is it predominantly for video influence.
What average qualities could be utilized without squandering memory?
I can't track down any nitty gritty direction.

Re: Upheld framework properties

Some of Serviio runs in Java. The Xmx property allocates memory to the Java virtual machine. My Serviio install uses the default 512m setting and I've never had any issues. My database contains about 6000 video files, so if someone has a larger collection it might be worthwhile to increase the memory for Java. I don't think it has any impact on video or audio quality of the streaming media.
