Hi

I have set my router to be able to access remotely from the internet using a domain name and I can browse the media on my Serviio server using Firefox.

When my iPhone is on Wi-Fi and connected to my LAN AirPlayer app automatically lists the server.

I now want to manually enter the server details to AirPlayer so that I can view my media from the Internet. I want to know what to put into the following fields:

http://
Username
Password

I do have a password assigned and that works on Firefox but what is the user name? Also, what is the syntax for the server URL?

two ways to get this, i think.

1 .You can download AcePlay on you ipad or iphone - then let it automatically detect serviio. Then you go into Media Serves -> click on 'i' next to serviio to get the link. Make a note of the link there. You have to do these steps form same network/subnet as serviio server initially.

2. Look at the log and look for i think PID {eg: 0a6c4952-c09f-3c6e-a33d-74404f644963} then you will construct the url like this:
http://yourip:8895/deviceDescription/0a ... 404f644963

Leave the username and password field blank.

Thank you. I can now connect from the Internet using my domain name. I do however have a question. How can I password protect this connection? I have set a password in the Serviio remote tab but AirVideo doesn't ask a password.

Or is that PID is to my server specific and I shouldn't be bothered?
