Hello All,

I wonder if I will be able to reach my Serviio server from Internet using XBMC !
I know about the fact UPNP is not made this way but I wonder if someone have been able to achieve this.

I tried to a a source providing the full http path (http://myhomednsname:8894/deviceDefinitition/mykey but... the content is empty (XBMC accept the entry but cannot find any content).

For you information, I am been able to contact my Serviio content from my iPhone (3G or Wifi NOT on the same network -> via Internet).
I will post very soon an "How To" if someone is interested.
FYI, I'm using AirPlay on my Apple Devices.

Thanks in advance for you help.

PS The idea will be to read the content of my NAS from another location (friend's home) without killing my bandwidth (I do have 10Mbits at the moment)

Hi,

Thanks both for your replies BUT... I was looking for a way to reach SERVIIO from a "remote" XMBC client (Raspberry).

The idea would be to access my movies from another location (friend's house).
Both solution provided are made for Android (anyway, I'm using Apple stuff and it's working fine but it's good to know about an Android trick).

Any other idea ?

Thanks

I think the BubbleUPnP server has this functionality, to act as a wrapper for Serviio

Hello zip,

Sorry, I didn't understood at the first shot.
I will download the Synology package and test it.

Thanks for the tip.
