Stream my videos on Internet without using Web browser

Hi all

I've had a look but can't see an answer to my question.

I've got Serviio all set up and it's working nicely (I'm very pleased with this server!) including the MediaBrowser (I've got the pro version).

Just one question: is it possible to watch my videos over the Internet without having to use the Web plug in (MediaBrowser)? I'd like to use an app if possible (e. g. Similar to VLC).

Is that possible?

Thanks very much,

Nick

That's only for Android, there aren't any for windows, although I think someone is working on a Windows 8 metro app.

You could always try setting up a VPN (making your remote PC look like is on the same LAN)... but I've never tried this. In theory it should work, but you'd want plenty of bandwidth.

This is how i play video from my remote server in vlc player (sometimes serviio mediabrowser is not the answer to play some types of video)

1, Make VLC playlist with the videos on your server
2, install vlc on the device you want to watch the videos
3, load the playlist ...
As DenyAll says you need a lot of band width to do this
