[SOLVED] No media found in VLC

I am running Serviio 1.2.1 on my WHS 2k3, and everything is running well on my Samsung TV.
However, no computers on my network are able to connect using VLC.
I am able to see Serviio in VLC, but no media. It's the same on many computers (all running win7).

Any suggestions?

Ive had this before.

If i double click on the serviio list then leave VLC open for about 5 mins it then pulls in the list.

Its as if VLC is pre-caching the list of file from serviio before displaying them.

As of yet ive not found a way to speed this up.

Yep, VLC queries Serviio for its entire catalogue (you can see it if you turn on detailed logging), which is a pretty stupid implementation, don't think there is anything you can do about it.

XBMC works well with Serviio, although not as light weight.

Thanks!
Waiting a few minutes did the trick. (Gbit, massive media collection and a powerful server still took some time)
The reason I would like this to work is when I have friends staying here who would like to watch something on the server. I don't want to give them access to the actual files, but I'm ok with letting them use what I share in Serviio.
A bit annoying, but perhaps we could get VLC to do something about it.
