How about an install guide for mac?
I just flat out can't get serviio working at all. Not with my Samsung D6000 smart TV (wired), and not with my 360 (also wired).
I'm on a MBP (10.6.8), and though I can ping the TV and Xbox, serviio is....not doing a thing. I have zero options for renderer profiles available. What I do have is an engineering degree and a lot of computer experience, but this type of communication is completely beyond my current level.
Partially, I'd love some practical advice for how to get the thing to work. Attached are pics of me (attempting) to verify the ports are open, and that the TV was being pinged. Also that the console offered no profiles for me to select, meaning I basically spent a few hours trying to figure out what I was missing. Bad design there.
Secondarily, I'd like to offer my humble opinion that, if it's this difficult for me, it's entirely too difficult for the bulk of the population. I know mac makes comms trickier, and this is evidenced in my own house, as my musician roommate who can barely turn on his HP laptop is able to easily install and connect. Nonetheless, can we get a detailed install guide? I've basically memorized the FAQ (which has no usable info here), and I've searched the wiki as well. I've searched the forums. The sub forums. Google. Nada. This is my last ditch, or I'll just end up going over to XBMC, which a close friend who's a history teacher has working seamlessly with the same TV/setup. I would be grateful for some assistance, so that I can experience the wonder that is streaming video from my laptop to my TV. Many people here with the same setup have gotten it to work, so I'm sure it's possible. I just can't figure it out from the information currently available to me.
Thanks!
