Serviio 1.3.1 errors and issues

I was running serviio 1.2.1 without problems on my MacBook Pro (10.8.4), but I have been unable to get 1.3.1 to work. On launch I get multiple error warnings with "An unexpected error occurred (500) check the log. It also prompts me that a new version (1.3.1) is available, and the window shows serviio 1.2.1 in the title bar (though About Serviio-console shows as 1.3.1). I've deleted all older versions, and reinstalled Java 7. I don't where to check for the log.

HELP!

Turned on logging. Log reads "Port is already taken. Notifying first instance."

It means a Serviio instance is already running. You might have some old version starting somewhere.

Since i switch to 1.3.1 I have problems with serviio on ubuntu server.

Movies are played about 1min and then i got Connection reset error:
...
2013-09-20 20:58:46,608 DEBUG [ResourceTransportRequestHandler] HTTP/1.1 200 OK, headers = [[Content-Type: video/mpeg,Date: Fri, 20 Sep 2013 18:58:46 GMT,Server: Linux, UPnP/1.0 DLNADOC/1.50, Serviio/1.3.1,Cache-control: no-cache,TimeSeekRange.dlna.org: npt=0-8887/8887,contentFeatures.dlna.org: DLNA.ORG_PN=MPEG_PS_PAL;DLNA.ORG_OP=10;DLNA.ORG_CI=1;DLNA.ORG_FLAGS=01500000000000000000000000000000,transferMode.dlna.org: Streaming,realTimeInfo.dlna.org: DLNA.ORG_TLAG=*]]
2013-09-20 20:58:50,554 DEBUG [WebServer] I/O error: Connection reset
...

Different movies - same results.

Beside that It is much slower and it takes a while to list files or play a movie.
I thought it was db problem but deleted db and created new one - it didnt help.
I dont have any online content or additional add-in
No problems at all in 1.2.1

Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance

I attacheed whole log from starting serviio.
There are no errors at all in log, but it is slow, sometimes cannot read directories, cannot play file, or when can it is broken after 1min or so - pretty useless.
Online content, metadata - all are off.

Any help?

Do you mean even browsing the folders is slower? or just playing a file?

If the latter - are you using the same profile? Maybe there is more transcoding introduced in the 13.1 profile than there was in 1.2.1

Yep, sometimes even browsing folders is slower and cannot show content (maybe because is searching for metadata covers, online content and similar - which are all off).
I'm using custom profile - same as before (official Sharp profile is getting closer to mine - my TV cannot reproduce mp3 neither in audio neither in video so I added mp3 transcoding).

I removed whole serviio with db and installed new one, made TV hard reset, made Ubuntu server hard reset and it is working again.
I hope this time will work well a bit longer it is a bit work to recreate whole library again :)

Thanks

Two days after new installation I have the same problem.
Browsing the folders is slower and movie play duration is about half a minute.

Any suggestions where should I look for a problem?

How many files did you add to your library? It should deal with a lot without really slowing down. Looks like some network problems, maybe buffers set somewhere in your OS?

Cca 200 Videos (without meta, without online content, updates of files off, library refresh 60 min.), one music and one image folder for test (cca 100 files per folder) .
Like I said on 1.2.1 was Ok with even more files.

Wired network - xbmc on Raspberry Pi plays without problems from same Ubuntu Server via samba.
Processor usage very low.

I can provide more information when I get time to test a bit more.

Hallo,

i have the same problem. With 1.2.1 everything works fine, but after the installation of 1.3.1 everything is extremly slow down or doesn`t work.
In the task manager i see that the cpu-load of the Task FFMPEG is greater than 95%. Perhaps this process makes to much CPU-load.
A reinstallation of 1.2.1 doesn´t work as before.

What can i do? :?:

new 1.3.1 installation will reindex all your files, so it'll take some time before your CPU goes down (depends on how big is your library)
