Can't See Content in Network Drive Folders

Hi. I have the same (I think) problem as leshy here - viewtopic.php?f=5&t=10283.

With all media files on an external USB drive Serviio is working perfectly. The drive is filling up so I thought I would invest in a Synology DS213j NAS system with two 4TB disks.

I can map a drive in Windows from the NAS box and I can see all of the folders and files on my PC. I can play the files on my PC without a problem.

I can point Serviio at the drive and folders and it can see the folders but it can't see any of the files. Opening the Media Browser shows the folders as an item on the left hand side but selecting the folder returns "No content available".

Any suggestions gratefully received. I hope I'm doing something dim.

I know I can run Serviio on the Synology NAS box but I don't want to do that as having an old Sony TV takes lots of transcoding.

Regards, Andy.

You have to use UNC paths e.g. \\SERVER\films, rather than Z:\films (if Z:\ is the mapped drive letter) http://www.serviio.org/component/conten ... e?id=21#q5

Thanks will.

I had actually tried that before I mapped a drive with a letter and it hadn't worked. However, the link you gave makes me think my problem is to do with access rights. I thought because I can see the folders and have set the Synology box up to allow read/right access to me, that would be enough. But of course it's Serviio that needs the access, not me.

I am just resetting everything back to default and starting from scratch. Hopefully you've put me on the right lines to get it working. Thanks again for your help.
