Given the fact I’m using a Philips TV to view my files and that the TV has its own software to allow me to navigate the files that Serviio is serving…

Which is the use of the Settings in the METADATA tab?

I can understand that some of the files can be updated with covers, titles, actors and other interesting information, but in my case, that I don’t own a paid serviio version and that I can’t see that data in my TV…

I guess those metadata recoveries are useful if I'm activating the PC sharing or mobile sharing, but I fail to see it working for a TV... am I right?

Should I deactivate all inside that tab to increase the performance and avoid to get frequent hdd reads?

Thank you in advance!

Most TVs only show the thumbnail and title for metadata.

If you disable the setting, you will lose the possibility to browse by Movies/Series/Genres/Actors etc and will only see file name as the title.
