Sorting order

Is it possible to get the sort order to use The as part of the name of the movie?

For example... It currently lists the movies like so:

The Abyss
Ted
The Aviator

But when I think of it alphabetically, it should read as so:

Ted
The Abyss
The Aviator

Is that a simple option to change? TIA! =D

Not a current option. The word "The" is simply ignored when sorting - so your sort order at the moment should be:

The Abyss
The Aviator
:
Battleships
:
Ted

My two cents - I prefer it the way it is, otherwise in a large library you get a whole lot of movies sorted under "The" which doesn't add a lot of value. But perhaps a user option to include it or not might be a worthwhile feature request.

Wasn't sure if that was something that could be configured at the moment. I hadn't seen it anywhere. I agree however! For normal, day to day browsing and using I would say omitting "the" "a" preceding title'd words like that do not add benefit when trying to find a movie. I would strongly agree. But adding and trying to figure out what movies aren't showing when I have 600+ movies is a PITA when the alphabetized sorting isn't alphabetized. Not all the way. ;D I just took the longer route, and circled back thru with "the"s. Hehe, works for me fine now, rather get cycles spun on more important requests. Thanks again!!!!!!!
