Servio won't show files on NAS

Apologies in advance if this has been already covered somewhere, I've been searching for a while and can't find an answer.
I am new to Serviio. The reason I am trying to run Serviio is so I can use MP4 and FLAC files on my PS3 or Bravia telly.
Serviio isn't showing files from my NAS. I can see the main root directory when using my PS3 or Sony Bravia telly but both systems show no files at all.
NAS is a Netgear Stora. DLNA is running perfectly (has been for over a year) and all files on NAS can be seen across the network. But when I run Serviio - enter the path to the NAS (either as a locally mapped driver or as a network path) when I go to my PS3 or telly - no files appear - just an empty directory.
I suspected the library hadn't updated in Serviio but the status indicators stay red and there is no network activity to indicate it is doing something. Additionally, I'd expect some files to start to become visible as Serviio indexes my library. Even after leaving it for several hours nothing appears.
I have tried restarting Serviio with no luck.
I haven't tried rebooting my NAS or router but I hesitate to do this as the network is currently in use and I can't see why that could be the cause when DLNA and network services appear fine otherwise.
Hope someone can point me in the right direction,
Andrew.
