Adding files from a network drive

Hi everyone,

I know that this question has been asked a million times, but none of the results I found worked for me. Most things I've found link to this http://www.serviio.org/component/content/article?id=21#q5.

My problem is I'm not sure which account to use. My setup is as follows.

Laptop (Win7 64bit) is running serviio. I log in with UserA.
Desktop (Win7 64 bit) has the mapped drive. I log in with UserB.

My understanding is that I need to start he serviio service with UserB and UserB's password, problem is when I try to do that I get an error saying the name is invalid.

Is there something else that I need to do in order to load files from my network drive?

Thanks in advance for any help.

What you need to do is map the network drive on the laptop with the same user that is running Serviio. Serviio can't access a drive that is mapped on another computer. The drive has to be mapped on the computer running Serviio. Serviio only sees "local" drives. Meaning that the drive has to be accessible on the machine that is actually running the Serviio software. Or load Serviio onto the desktop machine, which is what I would do.

Make sure your create a UserB user with the correct password on your Laptop.

I mapped the drive and was still stuck, this was the problem here. I tried to rename my current user and change the password but that wasn't working. I created a new user with the same username and password (as UserB on my desktop) and its loading the files now.

Thanks for the help!
