Serviio Pro seems to have broke serviio

When I upgraded to Pro I didnt use my serviio web access sortly after upgrading but now I cant access serviio at all. It keeps saying that it cannot connect to serviio server. I have done alot of the fixes people have suggested, (update java, uninstall and reinstall, etc.) but nothing has worked. i have tried to start the service by going into services and select start (as restart and stop were not available) and it gave me the same message. i have tried to create a log but...... I cant start serviio to spit out a log. I really feel like I was taken advantage of since I hate buying "pro" versions. But I was REALLY happy with how serviio performed and wanted to be able to access my music and movies from anywhere.

Any useful help would be appreciated as I am not a fan of XBMC or Playstation media server.

Turn on detailed logging (click link for details) and then try and start the Serviio service. Post the log to the forum.

Thats what I was talking about when i mentioned I couldnt restart the service. It only says Start and when i select that it says could not connect to server and failed to start service

When you press Start (in services.msc) you should still get a log file produced until it fails. It will only be a short log showing Serviio starting and then failing, but it may shed some light on why it is failing. The log file is in your Serviio\Log folder.

Do you get any error messages from Windows, or in the Windows event viewer (System log)? Have you changed your profiles.xml file at all? When you re-installed Serviio did it work before you re-installed your licence file?

I will check the log file for the log and no it didnt work when I reinstalled it. I didnt even put the pro key back in.

Unfortunately this is not a detailed log file - you need to turn detailed logging on (click on link and follow the instructions). I can see Serviio shutting down but not why.

This is just the configuration file. You did make the right change, now you have to restart the PC, try to start Serviio and then find serviio.log file in your Serviio installation directory (probably c:\Program Files\Serviio\log) and attach it here.

It started this time. Here is the log that was generated. It looks longer. please keep in mind that this is the free version as I have not put the pro version in yet and there is no media added so its a fresh install of serviio.

Bugger :D - needed to see the log when it failed to start.

I'd suggest:
  • Add your license key. Restart Serviio/your PC to make sure its still good
  • Add your shared folders one at a time. Force a refresh and when finished restart Serviio/your PC to make sure its still good. Repeat for other shared folders.
  • Add any online sources one at a time.
Keep detailed logging on - this will result in a massive log file but you can delete it after all this is finished and (hopefully) all working.

Did it fail again? At what stage?
Try zipping the log up posting the zipped file as an attachment. If not, post from the last restart of Serviio.

There is an icon in the system tray but it said it failed..... services show the status as empty.

Time zone differences will make that near impossible. Can you zip it up and then add as an attachment to your next post? That way @zip can also look into it if needed.
