Hi guys, is it possible to connect my iPad to Serviio? I've downloaded a couple of free apps on the iPad including VLC Player but I can't see to see Serviio via it + Serviio doesn't pick it up when it's connected to the network.
Does anyone know of any alternatives?
Thanks a lot.

on my android LG phone I use MediaHouse application as DLNA client... it works ok, I modified 'roku' profile and renamed it as 'LGphone'

I paid for AirPlayer. I use it on my iPad and iPhone. As well as my wifes iPhone and kids iPad. Works out the door, and the DLNA profile picks it up. I don't know about others as AirPlayer was my first try.

If you want to connect via DLNA (internal LAN only), I use and can recommend the 8player app. Free app with limitations, or paid without. Also, have a read of
viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1936 which discusses various apps (page 1 is too dated - half way down on page 2 starts to be more current).
Alternatively, you can simply use MediaBrowser which comes with Serviio (Pro or Evaluation period) and has the added advantage of working remotely (ie. across the internet).

The big issue with using MediaBrowser and the iPad. FLASH!!!!!
Safari, no.
Dolphin, no.
Chrome, YES (looks really good full screen I might add).
Puffin, YES (well, it should, I'm just having issues getting it to connect to my server atm).

-buzzplayer
-arkmc lite (or full)
-skifta

It doesn't use Flash on iOS devices, it uses the internal iOS media player.

So its using AirPlayer? I know that Puffin has its own Flash built in... Still haven't looked into why I couldn't get it to connect. Eitherway, AirPlayer worked like a champ for me. $5 doesn't bother me. I'd rather have a clean interface when watching my media. *shrug*

MediaBrowser for iOS uses built in iOS media player for HTML5. No 3rd party player. You can use AirPlayer to play your files using the DLNA interface (and only on your local network)
