Maximum number of files

Hello,
I got a Samasung HT-C5550, and everything works fine with Serviio but one thing:
I can't have more than 1000 files displayed on my HomeCinema. I have around 3000 files in the cathegory "Electronic" for example, if I choose this cathegory it only displays the first 1000 files.
It is quite a problem if I want to play randomly all the files of a cathegory.
I've also found on a log file : maxObj=1000, so is it a Sarviio limitation, and if yes could it be changed ? Or is it a limitation from my Home cinema device ?
Anothr question: I've already asked some questions on the forum about how to play randomly the entire library of audio fles. Someone told me that it will be implemented on the futur 0.5 version, but how will it work ? I mean, will I have the same problem of being limited to 1000 files ?

It's the device limitation.
The random category in 0.5 I think gives back 100, but I haven't tested it myself properly and it might just work with 'unlimited' results - maybe depends on the device.

Ok, and do you think there is a way to find another method to randomly play an entire library even if there is this 1000 songs limit ?

Not sure, give 0.5 a go when it's out and then we'll see.
Just out of curiosity, listening to 1000 songs would take you like 4000 minutes ... you don't sleep?

lol, of course I sleep...
I just would like to be able to use "random play" on my entire library, not only on the first 1000 songs.

It'll get random 100 from your entire library every time you select the category.

I dont want to offend zip ... but for Audio you might want to look at other DLNA streamers which have better support for large libraries ... (mine costs ~30$)
... but: for Video serviio ist the best

If it is possible, could send me a private message with the name of this other DLNA server ? Or post it here if Zip is OK.
By the way I tried the new "Random" feature of Serviio, and actually it just choose the first 100 songs of my library (the one with titles beginning with (.[ or numbers). So did I do something wrong ? Even with a forced refresh of the library it doesn't change.

You're right, it's a bug.

Hello Petr,
I've just tried Seviio 0.6.2 (Windows) with my UPnP Network Audio Player (Marantz NA7004), and the "Random" playlist is limited to
100 songs. Is there a way to increase this limit ?
Thank you,
Regards,
Laurent
