MediaBrowser Temp Files Too Much Disk Space

hi there. i recently started using mediabrowser. the hdd for my OS is rather small, and i only have about 50GB free, but ive noticed 20GB+ of free space disappearing since using media browser. ive only played files under 10GB, so im not sure why over 20GB would be unavailable due to serviio.

how is serviio software managing temp files that negatively impact disk space? restarting frees up the disk space, but ideally it wouldnt take up so much disk space at all. perhaps temp files need to be deleted immediately after streaming stops, or there should be a way to limit how much disk space youre willing to give up to serviio transcoding temp files?

or perhaps the option to choose where the temp files are placed? my library is comprised of content on external hdds, but mediabrowser playback hogs my internal hdd, which i dont use for videos at all.

There is the option in the console (Transcoding tab).

When you run out of space, look in this folder - there should be only 1 file (the last transcoded one).

i have "enable transcoding" unchecked, and so the option to change transcoded files location is unavailable. if i check it, will anything change about how my files play? i dont want transcoding for my local devices.

i currently have 2 files in my temp folder, both files from 2 days ago.

Files should only be transcoded when it's needed as defined by a profile, so you should be safe enabling it.

Another workaround would be to enable it, change location, save and disable again - I can see it's a bug, but should sort you out for now.
