Undefined Subtitle Language embedded in mkv files

Hi, I've been trying out many different media server today and I have to say that serviio is so far my favorite.
The only problem I have is that some of the mkv files won't display subtitles because their embedded subtitle track language is undefined. I know in other media servers, I can use the "und" code for undefined subtitle track, but is there anything I can do to enable subtitles in serviio that is undefined, aside from extracting the subtitle and renaming it.
My other problem, though a minor one is that serviio can't seem to read folders with special characters such as [] during scanning
Thanks,

Could you provide information about your mkv file (ffmpeg -i result) ? see signature link
Do you try "und" or "default", on serviio console preferred subtitles language ?
In other case you will have to edit the file to give the subtiles track a language code (mkvmerge).

My option for subtitles are "eng, und", but the problem is the subtitle track language is undefined and serviio doesn't seem to process "und".

there is missing language for the subtitles track, that's why it's ignored
- Code:
Stream #0:2, 0, 1/1000: Subtitle: ssa (default)

I figure that is the case, is there any hope in the future for serviio to identify these tracks?

i don't think so. the reason being people would be getting burned in subtitles that they don't want. now they select a language code, so it's reasonable to assume the subtitles is requested (incl transoding), without the code, the subtitles could be in any language and you'd be forced to watch the video transcoded with a foreign subtitles (possibly) without the option to turn it off.

well I'm not very sure how it works, but is it possible to make serviio scan for defined language subtitles first, and then if and only if it could not find any, serviio could then burn in undefined subtitles. Also, you could include a option for the console to execute this function.

I have run into this problem as well and it would be very nice to see some support for this.
Editing the file is not an option as that would change the checksum which would break the AniDB identification, and in any case I have 40k+ files, manually going over all of them and changing the subtitles language for all who happens to have undefined subtitle language would be months of work.
I understand that getting burned in unwanted subtitles is a problem but just adding support for "undefined" or similar as a preferred language means that only people that actually put that in the preferred language list and therefore hopefully know what they are doing would run the risk of that happening.

I ran into the same issue (of course) and after some digging i found a tool to get over this:
MKVToolNix
http://www.chip.de/downloads/MKVToolnix_42094730.htmlTogether with this GUI
https://github.com/BrunoReX/jmkvpropedit/releasesWere you simply loaf teh files - at teh subtitle section you enable Edit and Track 1 (as all of my files contain english subtitles only this is valid for me), set the subtitle to Default Track (whci might not be necessarry) and the Language to "English". The Files are directly processed (not rewritten) so as it's only the Flag set I would assume the Hashfile stays the same and you can do a whole buch at one go ...
