Pro user on 1.4. Very radical layout changes. Only using this for video and do not want to see the Audio and Images options after logging in. Is there a way to remove these? They had been disabled in 1.3 and although still disabled.. there they are.

I would prefer to log into the media browser and have it take me directly into Videos as a start page. That has to be pre-existing and very easy to do with some script editing..?

The 1.4 update appears to have removed the ability to customize which dynamic categories are being displayed. For example, Actors had been disabled in 1.3 and now I see Actors.. and everything else in 1.4 even though it is disabled.

This leads me to believe that either something is broken in 1.4 or somehow my profile has been corrupted by going from 1.3 to 1.4. If the latter is correct, is there a way I can use a new profile without having to rebuild my video library?


1) Can login take me directly INTO videos?
2) Why do I see Audio and Images even though they are disabled in console?
3) Why do I see all Video categories even though almost all are disabled in console?
4) If my profile is to blame, how does one resolve this without requiring a video library rebuild?

MediaBrowser in 1.4 does not take into account settings in the Presentation tab - you will always see all the categories.

What is the point of having the presentation tab now that it is broken? This is like having a defunct Print button in Microsoft Word and countless users keep clicking on it saying "why wont this print?!". I am disappointed that we are suddenly being forced to use all 14 of these video listings. I have 20 users connecting to my pro server and simplicity was key. Forcing these options causes more confusion to novice users. Is the presentation tab going to be removed from a later update or will this function be restored? As the console is relatively small this is an entire section of administration that was just broken.. and yes it is broken as the presentation tab still exists yet does nothing. There will be thousands of people saying "why is this entire defunct section of Serviio here?"

On another point we have suddenly lost so much space within the browser while playing a video. The playlist and summary dominate up so much space. It is now extremely precarious to watch a video in normal mode. In my opinion this forced view is considerably worse than before and it would be great if these forced options were adjustable or could be toggled. I have seen other people talking about this already so I will let the other users mount their complaints against this.

Thanks for finally including a search function. This should have existed from the start and was the largest complaint from my users. This is a very welcomed addition.

Thanks for mentioning the direct bookmark. Also thanks for creating the "save password" function. A lot of my novice users keep refreshing the page and forcing themselves to log in over and over.

The Presentation settings are there for:
- DLNA clients
- any other clients that choose to use that (I think ServiiGo does that)

MediaBrowser does not.

Loving the new look Mediabrowser, especially on iPad.

I would also like the ability to hide certain category icons which are irrelevant to the content I'm streaming.

I agree that the new Mediabrowser is great, but still hate the "auto playlist" function. Why can't it be turned off?
