Can't run Serviio on Macbook Pro OSX 10.8.5

Hello,

I downloaded Serviio 1.4 and tried to used it to stream HD movies to Samsung TV (UE55F8000) over wifi (Apple Time Capsule).

I can run one of the programs - Serviio Console, but can't open Serviio app.

Do I need to run the app? The TV sees Serviio, can play movies, but I'm not able to make subtitles to work, no matter what I do.

So, are my issues related to the fact I can't open and run Serviio.app?

When trying to run the app I get an error like this:

The application "Serviio.app" can't be opened. -1712

Thanks for your help!

I would think that the app is already running in the background :)

Does the Serviio.app have a UI or is it just a service that runs automatically? There is nothing on the task bar indicating the program is running...

On my computer it has always been running automatically, it does show an icon however. It is a windows computer.

Serviio.app does not have UI, it runs in background. It looks like for some people the dock icon is missing.

Hi, yes now I get it. Thanks for the great app and just a quick note, that maybe it would be good idea for you to add the procedure of assigning Profiles to the Getting Started and maybe FAQ too, newbies like me can spend days figuring out how to get the subtitles running and googleing the issue might give an impression its not even possible.

Right now I see Serviio being better than the competition as it makes it possible to use subtitles!

Thanks again for making and supporting this program!
