Serving running but can not see files to play them

I have installed server 1.4 on Windows 7 (64 bit) running Java 7.45. The server is running, the console opens. From the console I have added a library folder on the same machine, selected Music, and saw the Review Status scan the single mp3 file. When I open Windows Media Player (or any other player) on the same machine I can File Open and play that mp3 file. I also can see from within Windows Media Player the Serviio library as an available library. However, when I navigate to the library there are no Music files found.

I'm sure I have a basic setting that I missed somewhere that is preventing the Serviio files from being seen and then streamed. But I have looked and am stuck.

I would greatly appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.

Are you attempting to open Serviio from Windows Media Player. WMP is not a DLNA client and therefore won't connect to Serviio.
Try using a DLNA client like XMBC or VLC (or a DLNA enabled TV, BluRay player, etc) or using MediaBrowser (packaged with Serviio, and accessed via http://localhost:23424/mediabrowser/#/browse from the same PC).

Hi,

I noticed the same problem. I have Serviio running on Synology DS213j. Windows Media Player (Win7 x64) can see Serviio but no content. I would disagree that WMP is not DLNA client because it can play content from Synology's MediaServer which is DLNA server. So maybe creating new profile for WMP would help.
