Hey
So back to a topic I'm sure's been beat to death ...
Been using Serviio for a few years now and now want to setting up remote to use while traveling.
Despite trying now for ~2 weeks, I can't get the settings right to use Media Browser.
Here's what I'm working with:
Windows 7 64bit
Asus RT-AC66U router with latest firmware
Serviio Pro v 1.4
Cable One internet access
Norton 360

Likely, one of the biggest probs is I'm learning networking as I go - thus, all the issues configuring the various components.
I've read http://www.serviio.org/component/conten ... diabrowser at least 10 times; surfed the boards of Serviio, Asus, and Norton; know my external IP; set up dnsdynamic IP; tried both auto and manually config'ing Serviio and the router (get hung up on port ranges); try to access from my phone (off home network) - all with no luck.

So, anyone got an easy walk-thru configuring these components? Or just chuck it and hire a local IT/Networking company to come over and figure this out? (Sorry - frustration setting in ...)

Thx

The trick it to do port forwarding, it's different for each router, so look at your router's manual.

Basically you have to set it up so that 23424 port, which is open to the internet, needs to forward to port 23424 on the local Ip address of your server running Serviio (ideally set up static IP for that PC, so that it's all set up only once).
