I have DVDs of several TV series. I have encoded each of them using the same program with the same settings. When I browse the Series folder using my Sony SMP-N100 or my Panasonic DMP-bDT220 I only see one series. All of the files are in the same folder as well. When I browse the folder I can see the files and play any of them.

The one series that it is showing under the series folder, Stargate Atlantis, was not showing one of the seasons. I had not input all of the metadata or adjusted the file names for that particular season but they were all marked as TV Shows in iTunes and they were marked as being season 5. I updated the episode name & number and updated the file names this morning and that season shows up now. I checked the metadata for Star Trek, Firefly, Stargate SG-1, etc. and all the files look to have all the same metadata - season, episode, title, show, etc.

Do the file names needs to be in a certain format? Is there some magic piece of metadata the Atlantis files got that I've missed on the others?

As far as file naming, this applies to files accessed through the Series folder on your player, but not if you have Folders enabled and look that way. The Folders options shows everything in the folder, regardless of naming. However, for TV episodes to display correctly in the Series folder, the files must follow the correct naming convention. There are several variations that will work, but I use Series Name, Season #, Episode #, and Episode Title (example, "Mission Impossible S01E02 - Memory.mkv" . The easiest way to name them accurately is to use Filebot.

The magic word might be iTunes. If these files were downloaded from the iTunes store, they contain DRM (Digital Rights Management) and can only be played on your iDevice or through iTunes on your computer. Serviio cannot stream any media that contains DRM. (And neither can any other DLNA server).
