USB Hard drive on/off library lost

Sorry if this has already been asked, i did look for the answer but couldnt find it.

My Library is on a 1TB USB hard drive and it works great.
However if its switched off and i use the PC, Serviio loses the library.
Each time i want to use the server, i have to turn it on then refresh.... this takes a while :/

I would like Serviio to remember the files, and if i add new files i can force refresh while the drive is on.

Is this at all possible?

Yes, but its kludgey.

Refering to the wiki article http://wiki.serviio.org/doku.php?id=ser ... _explained, you need to uncheck all the "scan for file additions and updates" - ie. the orange box in that wiki article - and press Save. This will stop Serviio from refreshing those shared folders, either when the automatic timer goes off or on server restart (this is is what is causing you grief - on restart a library update occurs and your drive is either not connected or otherwise not yet ready, so all items are removed - ie. serviio sees them as having been deleted).

When you want to refresh the library, set the "scan for file additions and updates" for the shared folder you want to refresh on and press Save. Then do a Force Refresh (I actually don't think you need this step - the Save will trigger a refresh I believe). Once the refresh is finished, uncheck the box(es) again and press Save - this will leave it in a state that a refresh won't occur next re-start.

As I said, kludgey at best. Plenty of discussion on removable drives on the forum. See here for example: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=12572&p=88554.
