HI all,

As per the title, I have a file that won't play. Actually - it won't even show up in the library. The output from the serviio logfile is:

  Code:
2014-04-04 19:03:15,435 WARN [LibraryManager] Skipping processing metadata for an unsupported file (/mnt/movies/Hobbit.The.Desolation.of.Smaug,.The.(2013)-tt1170358/The.Hobbit.The.Desolation.of.Smaug.mkv). Message: Unknown video codec.

Output of ffprobe is here: http://www.nine-hells.net/ffp.txt

Output of mediainfo is here: http://www.nine-hells.net/mi.txt

Any suggestions would be great.

Thanks.

M.

HEVC not supported yet by serviio.

And I'm not sure that your device renderer support it.

Well that was easy enough! Thanks for the info. Guess I will have to try to transcode it somehow (not very knowledgable about such things).

HEVC(h265) is the latest video encoding format that will be used in the next years. It's better than AVC(h264) and will be used for next 4K resolution on professional video broadcasting.
I think that ZIP could add this format on video matching, then it'll be added on serviio library, so you can add it on profile to transcode it.

I will open a ticket... https://bitbucket.org/xnejp03/serviio/i ... e-matching

HEVC (h265) is supported on Samsung TV 2014 H-models (but not by Serviio jet).
Tested on UE40H6200 and UE55HU7500 (USB HDD).
Also h264 Hi10 and h264 HP up to L 5.1 supported, tested on Serviio NAS too,
no transcoding needed.
