1.4.1.2 still problem with presentation/metadata for videos

Hi,

in the topic viewtopic.php?f=27&t=14501&p=82509&hilit=karl#p82509 I searched for a solution for the xbmc-/nfo-tag <rating> and was told, that for this tag a hardcoded "unknown" would be send by serviio 1.3.1 to the client, that this would be fixed with 1.4.

Now with 1.4.1.2 I tested again and there still seems to be a hardcoded "unknown" for <rating>. In fact I get only Title and Genre from the presentation-dialog in the serviio-console to work.

I played around with nfo-files like

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes" ?>
<movie>
<genre>Action</genre>
<online>2013-04</online>
</movie>

but with "Presentation/Online/Visibility" set to "Display Category" there are no video-files displayed on the clients (Philips- and Samsung-TVs) for the Online-Category, only Genre and Title come up with content.

Any help is highly appreciated.

Sincerely

Karl

There is no direct relationship between a nfo tag and what you see on TV (category). Actually your nfo with <online> tag is invalid.

Online category on the TV shows a list of online sources, if you added some on your online library tab. To get the gight rating, you have to add <rating> element to the nfo file, with a valid value (e.g. PG). then refresh metadata for the file and you shold find the file under Video -> Rating -> PG

Understood the part with "online". I just tried to abuse this for a better overview on the TV to find the newest added movies without being asked by the family all the time. The "last added"-tag does not help much, when the library is being rebuild from scratch. Keeping information like this in the nfo-file gives the only and much better control about presentation-information as long there is no tool for direct access to the library.

The "rating" still does not work when placed in the nfo-files. Even tried with "PG" as rating-information and still all movies come up with "unknown" on our "Philips"- and "Samsung"-TVs, where "Title" and "Genre" work perfect.

I feel a little dispair.

Karl

Try to remove the file from your shared folder, refresh the library and then add again, to refresh the rating in the library.

Did that, but rating stayed as "unkown".

Dispair is growing.

Can you attache an example .nfo file?

And I assume you're still talking about the browsing category, ie Videos -> Rating -> Unknown ..?

My nfo-files look like this:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes" ?>
<movie>
<genre>Action</genre>
</movie>

That works fine for presentation, where I am using "title" and "genre".

For testing of the rating-tag I modified it to

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes" ?>
<movie>
<genre>Action</genre>
<rating>PG</rating>
</movie>

with no success.

Sincerely

Karl

The tag is actually:

  Code:
 <mpaa>pg</mpaa>

not rating,

Values can be

  Code:
pg-13
pg
g
r
nc-17
