[SOLVED] Subtitles won't disable

Hi,

I have a number of MKV files that when played through my Samsung TV play back with subtitles even when subtitles are disabled. If I play them in VLC on my PC I can disable them, if I play the files on my phone via the Serviio uPnP share I can disable and enable them at will (I assume it's not transcoding to my phone).

The TV is set up as a Samsung E/F (UE40ES5500), without any changes to the transcoding profile. Is there anything I can do to find out why it won't stop adding them? It's been happening for the last couple of versions, but currently I am on 1.4.1.2

Thanks

What are your settings on Delivery, Subtitles tab in Serviio Console?

Enabled subtitles is unticked in there, I have previously tried changing settings in there, turning it off and on, I even tried setting the default language to Disable, but that didn't help either. Each time I play a new file (I am worried that the Transcode settings could get cached somehow, or the transcode tmp files, if I play a film again) it comes up with subtitles on.

Post some MediaInfo details for one of the files and a detailed log showing you playing the file.
Is the file being transcoded (look in your temp folder for an .stf file when playing it)? You can clear the transcode cache by restarting your PC (or the Serviio service if you know how to do that). Endure that burned in-subtitles is disabled (in addition to disabling "Enable subtitles").

Are you sure its not the TV remembering the last setting?

Here is the ffmpeg info for one of the files I am having the issue with:

Thanks for any help, please let me know if you need any further info.

FYI I am running Serviio on a CentOS 6.5 server

Just seen that response, thanks DenyAll, I can't show you the detailed logs right now (I'm at work), but I should be able to get that info for you later, I hadn't tried disabling the settings underneath the main selector, I'll give that a go as well.

Also, not sure if the TV has any bearing on the subtitle setting, I cannot turn it on and off on the TV, it seems to be controlled by Serviio. So not sure what you mean by the TV remembering the last setting. Thanks for the help though :)

Hi, just had a chance to run the DEBUG, I'll attach the output and the ffmpeg

Disabling the extra subtitle options and turning subtitles back off again seems to have helped with at least some files (namely the one in the earlier post), but seemingly not the files mentioned in the attachments

Thanks for the hep so far :)

Iveky, thank you, you are a star :) I didn't realise subtitle options were buried in the tools, I just thought they were controlled by the subtitle button on the remote :)
