Is there a way to modify a profile ( specifically the Windows8/RT ) , to downmix 6 channel to stereo ? The file I am concerned with is an .mkv file with six channel audio AC-3 and I would like to be able to have serviio convert or transcode it down to stereo to make it playable on my system. Many thanks.

If the file is transcoded, check the Transcoding tab, there is a option for it.

Thought I'd post the solution I discovered for the problem I had with an .avi (actually a .mkv file) , that was playing video but no audio on a Roku 2. Originally I was using the Roku profile , but it would not play my .flv files.... so I switched profiles to the Windows 8/RT profile and that cured the .flv problem. Then I aquired a file that had a .avi extension but internally (checked with MediaInfo) was a .mkv file. Video would play fine on the Roku but no audio. Changed extension to .mkv....still no audio. Since the audio was 6 channel AC3 , I thought maybe this was the problem. The suggestion to select downmix to stereo , (on the transcoding tab in the Serviio console) , did nothing. Then I selected surround sound on the Roku audio settings and voila!....I got sound from the .mkv file...but my Roku re-booted itself after a few seconds of playing the file , so I did not feel too comfortable with that solution. (Switched the Roku back to stereo!) Finally , I edited the profiles.xml file from this:
<Video targetContainer="mpegts" targetACodec="ac3" aBitrate="320">
<Matches container="matroska" aCodec="dca" />
<Matches container="matroska" aCodec="dts-hd" />
<Matches container="matroska" aCodec="vorbis" />
<Matches container="ogg" vCodec="mpeg4" />
<Matches container="mp4" aCodec="lpcm" />
</Video>
===================================================================
To this:
<Video targetContainer="mpegts" targetACodec="mp3" forceStereo="true">
<Matches container="matroska" />
<Matches container="ogg" vCodec="mpeg4" />
<Matches container="mp4" aCodec="lpcm" />
</Video>
====================================================================
And that enabled the Roku to play the .mkv file (with audio) in stereo. This may help someone with similar problems.
