Can Serviio list movies in multiple genres

I installed version 0.5 of Serviio a couple of days ago. I am very happy with it until now. But I cannot figure out one thing. Can Serviio list movies in multiple genres?

I have my movie collection organized in XBMC with metadata from IMDB. Most movies have more than one genre. In the exported .nfo files there are multiple genre tags. But through my media player I can only find each movie in one genre. E.g. star wars is only listed in the Action genre and not in the Science fiction genre.

Is it possible somehow? Am I missing something?

Regards,

David

NO, currently it only stores it against the first found genre.

Do you have plans to add this functionality in the near future?

Not really. Create a bitbucket ticket and will see where it could fit release-wise.

I too would like the multiple genre, especially since the NFO files are usually automatically created one way or another and I can not dictate which genre to display first just so that Serviio displays it where I want it to (not without manually going into every single NFO file I have and re-order the genre tags)

There are also other nodes in the NFO file I see that would be real cool for Serviio to recognize. For example, there is a <set> tag that will allow the owner to group movies (kind of like the Series for tv shows), also the MPAA tag/node would be awesome to have listed within Serviio.

Here is an NFO I have for Iron Man (with the set tag value of "Iron Man Collection")

  Code:

<movie>
  <title>Iron Man 1</title>

surely if your using NFO file you can just edit the NFO file and put whatever genre you want first ;)

You are right, I can do that. And since I do use NFO files, I have.

However, what I may consider the "main" genre and place at the top of the list for a particular film, may not be what my wife thinks should be what that movie be listed under. And so she has to search to try and find where I placed it. Same goes with my kids... they may look for the same thing in a completely different genre.

If you look at almost any movie information (whether it be IMDB, Netflix, Rotten Tomatoes, Yahoo, or whatever you want to use) you will see that movies are not classified as just a single genre.

Here are some links for reference...
