Irregular dimensions?

I have a video that was encoded in 720 x 476. Not sure why they didn't do 480 but I believe this is causing a problem.
I'll watch the video just fine on my PC with VLC player (as expected), however, when I play the video on my LG tv through Serviio, the picture is slightly squashed. I didn't see any dimension controls in the Serviio transcoding options... would be great if this was a new feature.
Has anyone else had a problem like this? If so, how did you resolve it?
