Library refresh on 1.5

Hi,
I'm using Serviio since v1.2 installed on a Mac Mini, accessing a FreeNAS box. Until v1.4.1 we were able to control the refresh period of the library or force a refresh. With this, my NAS have the activity controlled. SInce I've installed v1.5, we only have two options, "automatic" scan or manual scan with a forced refresh and we have lost "scheduled" scan.
Is it possible to have it again, even with some sort of manual configuration? My NAS doesn't stop and to have access to the console I need to be next to the Mac or have remote access and this is not always possible. I use to use the Web Console but the actual one it's not 100% compatible with v1.5.
Any clue?
Regards,

I believe the way 1.5 works is that it no longer does a scheduled scan, but instead monitors for file changes. It is using functionality that is already in the OS, so the scan is no longer necessary.

Yes, I understand the mechanism, but I think that with a CIFS read-only share, this mechanism it's not effective. I have activity of writing new files to this share once or twice a week and the disks and CPU consumption are constant. That's why I mentioned this.
I believe that the current scan mechanism is effective with local disks, independently on the OS, but in this (my) use case it's not.
If I can provide some more information that you may need to identify the issue, please tell me what you need.
Regards,

How do you measure this? Can you post
detailed log of the server startup + 30 seconds after that?

I cannot use version 1.5 because it s not automaticly refreshing the files.
After about 15 minutes it locks up my tv and PC.
I stick to 1.4.1.2 for this moment.

Can you post
detailed log with 1.5 to see why it doesn't refresh? Are the files local or on a remote drive?

this what happens with the new version each time when i download a new movie :
015-01-22 18:10:09,408 WARN [MetadataExtractionCoordinator] Skipping processing metadata for an unsupported file (D:\Downloads\Vice.2015.720p.WEB-DL.DD5.1.H.264-CzT\Vice.2015.720p.WEB-DL.DD5.1.H.264-CzT.mkv). Message: Unknown video file type.

After the download is finished i can use force refresh and all is ok ....so the automatic refresh does not exist in this case

Hi,
Hi apologize of my post. I've misinterpreted the results on NAS access. Everything is fine with Serviio, is another issue I have.
Thx in advance:)

I have a question.
I have my media on a dedicated RAID-5 array, which is set to sleep after 20 minutes of inactivity (say, if I am using the HTPC to play a game). This is why I always manually updated.
Will this refresh stop this from happening now, or will Windows know no to wake the drives if there have been no changes to them?
To be honest I kind of liked the manual refresh, because it gives you a chance to rename files, move things around etc. in your library before telling Serviio you're read to have them indexed.
Thanks.

My drive goes to sleep and it doesn't seem to be effected by the new scheme. My understanding is that Serviio is responding to OS events, not polling the drive, so it should be fine... but try it (automatic refreshing) for your drive.
You can turn off Automatic library updates and use the manual method still - that has not changed.

I used to use the manual refresh as well.
In 1.5, using the automatic refresh, my NAS's actually go to sleep more often then before.

Zip. Thanks for new version of Serviio the library refresh seems a lot neater. One problem though when copying large files to a shared folder it seems to be killing the network performance on my NAS because Serviio seems to be adding the files to the library before I've finished copying all of the files. Would it be possible to delay the time from file being copied/updated to the time to Serviio inventory's the file to allow file copies to complete? Either a through the GUI or JAVA_OPTS is fine with me. Thanks

What is the OS of the NAS?
Can ou post a bit of
detailed log of the file being added before it finished copying? Normally it should keep checking if the file is complete and then add it (run ffmpeg etc)

I use computer as serviio server and mainly for online resources. I turn the computer off daily.
The problem is upon each startup, the online resources library is cleaned up.
The update process need to start over which takes time and being very unconvenitent to me.
Is there a way to avoid library cleanup upon serviio service start?
