Help, Console or Media Browser for Synology Diskstation

Hi,
Hate to ask on such a basic question but I have tried a number of times for some hours & had to give up each time.
I can't get the console or media browser to work.
I set up Servioo & Java originally I think for either Madsonic or Logitech Media Server but would like to stream photo's & other stuff.
There is no DS Photo+ for my Roku so can't view pictures direct from the DS.

If I view from my Roku etc. I can select the Serviio server but there is nothing in any folders, video, music or photos so I guess I have to set up folders somewhere
(I can view videos & music from DS apps etc, stream music from LMS & download music for subsonic/madsonic, so generally all works well but nothing from Serviio)

DS213j: DSM 5.1-5022: Java 1.7.0_51
1.4.1.2 - For Nas
1.5 for Windows For Console - Only installed console.
Added to the bins files:
-Dserviio.remoteHost=192.168.2.41 , My local IP.
I run Serviio console, pauses for a second then nothing, no errors but also nothing else.

Couple of things that I perhaps don't understand, I can click http://192.168.2.41:23424/mediabrowser/#/login from the DS package center & it brings up Mediabrowser login.
1) I thought there was no built in browser.?
I don't have a password, i don't think, if you type anything is says only available in the pro version.
2) I thought the pro version was just for computer server & not the NAS so why is there a www page for login?

I would be happy to buy the pro version if I could get it working.

I read somewhere so I added in the DS Firewall settings to allow the port 23424 but was not quite sure if to have a separate source & destination, did both, no help, but as local assumed doubt a problem anyway. I did NOT do anything to the NAS confiuration files as that particular article suggested.

What am I missing?? Everything else has been easy & great on the synology Nas but this is driving me crazy.

THanks I/A.

Continued on from my own question.

Forgot to say Windows 8.1.
Tried running from the start menu & also direct from the folder where it was installed.

There is nothing in the systray & I can't find anything related in the task manager so 99% sure not running in the background anywhere.

You will need the same version of console as you have the server on the NAS (you have 1.5 console, 1.4 server).

Windows 1.4 installer is here: download.serviio.org/releases/serviio-1.4.1.2-win-setup.exe

MediaBrowser comes with every version, but only is accessible in the Pro version (or during the evaluation period). Once you buy Pro, you will be able to set up a password on the Remote tab in the console.
