hello,

at first: i'm from germany, my english is not very good. but i hope, you can understand me.

i got serviio and like it very. no probs with my files till now.
but now, i wanna also play my movies at a second tv without dts.
every movie has the ac3-audio, but if DTS including, the ac3 is the second audio-track.

so, my question: is it possible, a profile to configure, what only plays the ac3, without transcoding?

to example:

file: mkv, 1. Audio DTS, 2. Audio AC3
1. TV: DTS
2. TV: AC3

Please help me! :)

greetings, joe

You could build a custom profile for the 2nd TV that would force transcoding the audio if it is DTS. Also, you could use Handbrake and move the AC-3 audio into the first position. Depending on the number of videos you have, that might be worthwhile, since you could then play the movies without transcoding.

At least I am assuming you can play them without transcoding. we would need to know what TV you are using to know exactly how to modify your profile.

I testet some profiles, in the moment i had the LG-TV-Profil with changed the comment (like in the threat described).
It works, but the transcoding needs time, so the waiting time for the preview is not comfortable for me.
It is only the Point from the i i want. :)

i have a lot of movies... in the past, maybe five years ago, i had only the moviestation without serviio, just plug the hdd with usb. moviestation at reciver -> Movie with DTS... Moviestation at TV -> Movie without sound. press the button "Audio", second audio play -> AC3. so every movie with DTS demux, make AC3 from DTS, merge new with DTS at first, AC3 at second.
