What to try when PC will no longer connect to local server?
I apologize if I missed an obvious answer, but I've looked around on FAQs etc., haven't made any progress.
I have a server and a viewing computer on the same network; for a few months, no problems. A couple days ago, they stopped seeing each other, and I can't figure out why. I don't believe anything has changed.
1) Serviio server is windows 7, viewing computer is windows 8.
2) There are no firewall or virus protections on either computer.
3) Serviio status error: See screenshot below. The computer (192.168.1.3) is now seen as "Windows Media Player", and has a red dot next to it.
(It used to be "Unrecognized Device", which worked fine (with Generic DLNA profile))
4) I connected to Serviio with Kodi, which has dlna support, and has worked fine; with thumbnail support and everything.
5) The web server still works fine. I can watch via the :23424 port on any computer across the internet, not just at home.
Additional Q: I wondered if I could try deleting the ip address from the Serviio Console, and manually re-adding it, per your "getting started" page, which says: "In other cases ... you can manually add a device to the list in a case it has not been discovered at all."
But I have not been able to find any information anywhere on HOW to manually add a device. Right clicking etc. does not produce any results.
Additional comment: I don't think it's germain to this issue, but on your FAQ page one of the things to try is "If on Windows, you can push the Serviio service down in starting order." - and there's a link, but the link doesn't work.
--Thanks--
