MediaBrowser shows wrong tags

Hello,

I have many differences between the tag info shown by MediaBrowser and the real mp3 tags of the file.
Here's an example of MediaBrowser:
mediabrowser.png
mediabrowser.png (8.93 KiB) Viewed 10140 times

These are the correct ID3v2 tags:
puddletag.png
puddletag.png (9.99 KiB) Viewed 10140 times

As you can see, both genre and artist are wrong. It seems as if MediaBrowser is still using the info from the past. The tags have been updated and the Serviio library was refreshed.
Using Serviio 1.5.2 on CentOS 7.

Thanks,
SH

Are you sure there are only the 2.4 tag data? No other tags present at the same time?

What happens if you remove and re-add the file to the library?

Hi zip,

yes, only 2.4 tag data. I did what you asked for, I removed the file, waited for Serviio to refresh the library, added it again, waited for the next refresh (this is one hour in my configuration) and voilĂ , the tags were correct. There seems to be a bug in the library update process. Would be great if that could be fixed in the next build. Is there a release date already?
FYI, i added "serviio.forceLibraryPoller=true" to the serviio start script b/c the default update mechanism didn't work at all.

I will delete the library folder and let it rebuild from scratch over night. This seems to be the only way to get out of this mess (I updated a lot of files during the last few days).

Anyway, besides a few annoying bugs, the MediaBrowser is great. I especially like the search function, which is super fast. :)

Personally, I consider that song Classic Rock and not Pop. I think it half right originally!

For the purpose of a better overview, I deleted many genres, so I only had the choice between pop and rock. ;)

Do you have 'Search for updates to shared files' checkbox selected? The red box here: http://wiki.serviio.org/doku.php?id=ser ... _explained

Yes, it's selected. I reproduced this problem for v1.4.1.2, it's the same. No tags get updated unless you remove/add the file. Maybe just renaming or moving the file works also, but I haven't tested that. What does get updated is the cover art!

So if you enable detailed log and make the update, do you see in the log some entries about the file being updated and metadata reextracted? Also, does the file's lastmodified date change once you update the tags?

The detailed log doesn't show anything. The file's lastmodified date doesn't change after updating the tags.

Ah, that would be why. Serviio doesn't know the file has changed if the date doesn't change. Perhaps you can try a different tag editor..?

I can confirm that after changing the lastmodified date ("touch <file name>") the tags get updated!
However, why does Serviio update the cover art w/o changing the lastmodified date? Maybe because the file size changes? It changes on cover change, not on tag change.

Maybe the cover is in an external file, not inside the audio file itself?

No, it's embedded, that's why the file size changes. You can delete the external image after adding it to the MP3 and it will still be displayed.
