Preferred online content quality question?

Here is an attempt to play a TuneIn station. It played for 0.5 seconds and after 30 seconds of silence, the TV tried the next station. Shortly later it failed with "File cannot be played".
Re: Preferred online content quality question?
Should I assume that these issues with these plugins and the Sony Bravia will simply die for lack of interest? Could a longer than 20 second timeout help if there's any way for me to do it (I've never programmed in Java)? Would installing Serviio on my wife's W7 laptop tell us anything, although I couldn't continue to use it?

Re: Preferred online content quality question?
Perhaps post again over in the "sony" thread. Those errors still look like a Sony TV problem to me. I'd suggest using a different tunein example because those two streams did not seem to play correctly for me using ffplay.
http://tuneinads.moodmedia.com/streams/ ... th_ads.mp3
http://stream5.eltelon.com/patagoniarad ... -music.aac

Re: Preferred online content quality question?
Thanks, I'll do that. Maybe just the CBS example? My problem is I REALLY don't know how those URLs are derived. I would have thought anything like *-ads.mp3 wouldn't even be used. Shortly after that example, that station started and streamed forever. All I knew was http://tunein.com/search/?query=new%20age . Problem with the plugins?
BTW: i just tried the same thing from my wife"s W7 laptop. The same inconsistent results.

Re: Preferred online content quality question?
then query "jazz" or your "location"
Re: Preferred online content quality question?
Well, I've posted this viewtopic.php?f=11&t=21441 in the Sony thread. We'll see what happens. There are lots of failures in the logs to look at, but I can never predict the manner in which the failures will occur. Since Illico has stated before that he felt the problem must be an external server url that does not delivered a good rtmp stream format , I'm not going to hold my breath. I really like Serviio, but I would love to be able to get these streams going more than 10% to 30% of the time. Assuming this will not be resolved, is there any other software available that can handle these online feeds?
Re: Preferred online content quality question?
Check that the files that are failing on Serviio actually work on the original web pages. I found your Patagonia stream does not, which shows that illicos point that it could be a bad stream was correct.
Re: Preferred online content quality question?
Geez, if Patagonia got in that log I REALLY don't know what I'm doing. In the log file you looked at, I used http://tunein.com/search/?query=new%20age as I recall. It had 9 stations, and to my recollection, I only attempted to stream "New Age Radio" http://tunein.com/radio/New-Age-Radio-s249939/ I must really be lost.
Re: Preferred online content quality question?
I saw that link in the log, but I have no idea why. I never tried to play it.
Re: Preferred online content quality question?
Links play consecutivelyseeline 680 on. Error looks the same as first station.
Is this happening on all 9 streams? and all other search urls or just these 2?

Re: Preferred online content quality question?
ALL TUneIn stations normally fail to start on the 1st 2nd or 3rd try, but I'll try all these 9 New Age stations now and let you know tomorrow. Almost time for NCIS.
Re: Preferred online content quality question?
The TV sees 7 of those 9 stations, including Patagonia that I Never noticed because I Never played it. All stations played after 2 to 10 attempts to kick-start them, except Patagonia that resulted in "... access prohibited by server". Those stations, except for Patagonia, all play in Firefox.
Illico has replied to my post at viewtopic.php?f=11&t=21441&p=106378#p106378 with some requests that are WAY over my head at this point. Can you help me understand what he's asking for, from the command line, and what to expect? Also, what is a "ffmpeg log" and where is it found?
Thanks.

Re: Preferred online content quality question?
To followup on my previous post, the commands he's talking about aren't valid CMD (DOS) Commands. Is it assumed I have some other Terminal Emulator installed? What kind of environment am I expected to learn to program in to help find these problems?
Re: Preferred online content quality question?
I just replied to Illico with this:
Can you help me get the info you need? This is all new to me.
One thing at a time. Lets pick TuneIn audio.
1) What do I look for in the log? I assume 'debug log'?
2) The commands you're asking me to "Paste" into a TERMINAL session are not valid CMD (DOS) commands. Do I need another Terminal Emulator or can I just run ffmpeg in CMD? If so, please give me instructions (input, output, switches)?
If I can get the hang of this, I'll try to get info on CBS.
