Hi

Please forgive my ignorance but can someone tell me what the unrecognised devices are in my list on serviio?

Are these people in my neighbourhood connected to my network? or something else? I never really understood that.

Also recently i have been getting disconnected from serviio A LOT. (like almost all the time)
I will watch a film and after a few seconds or minutes serviio will disconnect. A minute or two later it will then reconnect.
Is this down to HD content not being able to connect well?

I have a high end PC and 150mb internet connection.

Any help would be appreciated :D

Something on your network? Yes. Neighbors? Perhaps. In my home, I have lots of different devices on the network. Phones, tablets, printer, router, TVs, Blu Ray players, Roku players, etc. Many of them appear as unrecognized in the Serviio console. Are you certain these aren't just various things of yours connected to your network?

Of course, it certainly could be intruders on your network. First change your Wi-Fi password and see if they go away (although they don't disappear from the console, you have to remove them). If they still pop back into your network, I would add a new router between your Internet router and the rest of your network.

More than likely its the same device(s), other PC's probably, getting a different IP address when they connect to your network. By default, your router will sometimes assign different addresses to the same device when it joins your network.

Its not an issue but if its worrying you, you can assign reserved addresses to each device or extend your DHCP Lease Time - both are done within your router.

ps. make sure your wireless is secure anyway, as its good practice ;-)

As for why your getting disconnect, could be lots of things. Post your detailed log and lets see what that says. I do notice your Samsung hasn't got an IP address??? You should probably assign that a reserved IP address in your router.
