I have no sound for most videos in MediaBrowser with version 1.7, both in Safari and IE on Windows 7.
Uninstalling and reinstalling version 1.6.1 did the trick.

I had this during beta testing (I was the only one as far as I know), but for me it fixed itself after the initial library refresh/rebuild is completed. So its simply a matter of waiting - either monitor your CPU usage or your log to tell when the refresh is complete.

Until the initial library refresh was complete, I saw some weird things with video's that wouldn't play (when they did previously), audio missing and stuttering (due to high CPU during the update).

Hi, i have the same problem. I do the 1.7 update and then in mediabrower every video haven't sound On the tv the audio is ok.


I did the update and does not uninstall and reinstall (as they explain faq to don't lose settings and library)

Did you wait for the library to update?

I upgraded yesterday and today there is still the problem (my server is on 24/7), I believe that now the library update is finished ... (I used "Force refresh" in the library section, it is correct?)

WOW WOW WOW, I'm at work and I tried to log in Mediabrowser through vpn, I did a test and the problem seems solved.In the afternoon I try at home, for now, thanks for the tip

I have a line with 1 Mbit in upload, how can I change the profile so that the videos are lowered for a resolution? If I select low video resolution is still jerky, I have to further lower resolution and bitrate

In application-profiles.xml, profile flv_player, there are a list of qualities and transcoding settings. you can lower bitrate and resolution.

Having this problem in 1.8 (possibly since 1.7 as its only my mum who normally uses Serviio) and its been three days since I forced a refresh of the library, still no sound.

Not sure why but it seems its firing up ffmpeg with no audio option, I can't see anything obvious in the debug log to explain why.

Can you post ffmpeg -i for the file?

As far as we can tell NO files are working that were before.

What if you revert your ffmpeg to 3.0.2, or similar from the 3.0.x branch?

Its not ffmpeg at fault though, Serviio 1.8 is not asking ffmpeg to include the audio.

I just double checked, and 1.6.1 works fine with the same version of ffmpeg.

There might be a problem with parsing the new ffmpeg output in regards to what was done between 1.6 and 1.8. So try the older ffmpeg first to see if it fixes it for you.

Has your library completely rebuilt (check the log)?

Going from 1.6 to 1.7 (and by extension, from 1.6 to 1.8) requires the library to be rebuilt. I believe during this rebuild Serviio is gathering all of the audio data in your media files - until this process is complete you see this sort of weird thing happening. At least, this is what I saw during the beta testing for 1.7.

Wait for your library to be re-built (and confirm by doing a forced refresh) and then re-test.

I forced a refresh and left it for 3 days.

Ok, confirmed the FFmpeg should not be a problem.

Try clicking on Update video metadata on the Metadata tab, and then Force Refresh again.

Tried those things an hour ago, unfortunately it doesn't seem to have helped.

can you enable detailed log, re-add the file (for example a copy with a different name) and post the log here?
