5.1 Track Selection on Transcoded files

Hello all,

With the release of 1.7, we now have the ability to choose tracks based on language. However, my multitrack problem isn't a language one - it's a mono vs 5.1 problem.

Most of my video is multitrack with the first track being mono/stereo (usually the descriptive assistance track), and the second being the 5.1 surround sound track.

How do I select the 5.1 track to be sent when transcoding to my sony 480. I know that "all tracks" can be sent, but that doesn't seem to be selectable on the sony player (even though there's an audio select button on the remote).

Here is the audio track info from the video files:

Input #0, mpegts, from '1071_20160420010000.mpg': Duration: 00:59:59.41, start: 84190.617778, bitrate: 8488 kb/s
Stream #0:0[0x31]: Video: mpeg2video (Main), yuv420p, 1280x720 [SAR 1:1 DAR 16:9], 59.94 fps, 59.94 tbr, 90k tbn, 119.88 tbc
Stream #0:10x34: Audio: ac3 (AC-3 / 0x332D4341), 48000 Hz, stereo, fltp, 96 kb/s
Stream #0:20x35: Audio: ac3 (AC-3 / 0x332D4341), 48000 Hz, 5.1(side), fltp, 384 kb/s

Thanks in advance!

You won't be able to prioritize the track as is. Currently only language code can be used for prioritization. You could also set the default flag on the 5.1 track (not sure if you could just remux it, or if there are some tools that can do that for you) and then select the appropriate checkbox on the Languages tab in the console.

Thanks for the quick reply. I'll have to do some searching to figure out how to do this. Will report back once I get more info. Are there plans to maybe extend the audio selection to mono vs stereo vs 5.1?
