No Playlists since 1.7

Ok, I installed 1.7 the other day and everything looked good. However, when I went to play some music from my playlists (using a Sanyo R227 Internet radio - Reciva), all the playlists are listed, but they all show as empty. I tried with my Sony BD (BDP-Sx90) and, again, the lists are there, but Sony says "There is no playable file". On my Samsung TV (Series H), the songs within the playlists are shown, but when I select one, it says "The file you have selected is not currently supported". All songs are mp3.

All of these devices played the music under 1.6.1. If I select "Titles" rather than "Playlists", I see the alaphabetic list, but each one is empty.

I have turned on "Debug" logging, but I can't see any errors. If I deleted a playlist, I get at "removing playlist" message. If I restore the playlist, I get an "adding playlist" message, but the list still shows up as empty on the device.

I'm thinking of reverting to 1.6.1, but I thought that I'd try here before doing that. Thanks in advance for any help that you might be able to provide.............Ian

I just checked both of my servers, and they have all their playlists intact. Make sure your playlists are are encoded in UTF-8. If they still don't appear, attach one example here so it can be examined for correct formatting.

I checked all playlists and they are all UTF-8. Also, there are no songs listed under 'Titles' either.

So I removed the share that contains the music from the shared folders list and then put it back in. After much thrashing (and many, many "DEBUG" log entries), all is now fine. I guess that I should have tried "Force Refresh", but I didn't think of it. Anyway, all seems to be well again; all lists and "Titles" are fully populated and no error messages were generated.

Thanks for the help, atc98092; it's much appreciated. Once again, this forum proves itself to be useful and informative. Now, if I could just get better performance from my Samsung TV...

Thanks again, guys.................Ian
