Serviio

Hello, i tried searching for my question for a whole day because i really didnt want to start my own topic but didnt have any luck.
I have been using Serviio for years on my windows pc and watching shows on my tv's around the house but i never had used my mac to connect.
I don't have much experience with Macbooks or apple in general and i dont know how to reach my serviio server from my macbook. I feel like it should just appear
on the side of finder and work but only once did it show in that area and it said couldnt connect. Any help would be appreciated.
