Not sure I understand the question. If your computer has only one hard drive, and Serviio must transcode the file for your player, then there will be a lot of activity on that hard drive. If the computer is power limited (i.e. low memory and/or slow CPU) then you might end up with buffering of the movie during playback or the computer is not usable for other tasks while the movie is playing.
The best solution (without replacing the computer with something more powerful) is to add another hard drive and either a) move the video files onto the new drive or b) tell Serviio to use the new drive for its temporary file location. Since all my media are on separate drives, I've left the Serviio temp location on the C: drive.
Even if the computer has a lot of power, using the computer for something like file transfers that affect the same hard drive that is streaming the movies you may run into a bandwidth bottleneck. The hard drive can only read/write to one location at a time. If you are writing a file to one location, and the drive is streaming a movie file at the same time, that can cause issues.
Unless your computer just doesn't have any space for a new internal hard drive, I suggest adding a new drive and moving your movie files to it. Even if you have to use an external USB drive, it might be worth the effort, and hard drives are overall fairly inexpensive.
