Zip,

How are things?

Serviio is dying after startup for both Debian 8 and Centos 7 with OpenJava 1.8 version 111. Here is a thread that discussed the issue about Debian viewtopic.php?f=4&t=22425&p=111536#p111536 .

Here is what Centos said:

ec 18 08:52:39 zabbixserviio.me.org serviio.sh[20903]: Exception in thread "Thread-31" java.la...on
Dec 18 08:52:39 zabbixserviio.me.org serviio.sh[20903]: at org.serviio.MediaServer$ShutdownHook...4

Do we need to downgrade our Java (and possibly break the operating system)?

Found the problem: Centos Firewall. Forgot to register the Firewall XML needed.

I fixed this and the error is DEFINTELY java related on Centos 7.X . I tested 3 different versions of Centos.

I am getting the Exception in thread "Thread-31" java.lang.NullPointerException error message

Centos 7.3 strangely changes the permissions. Remember to make sure that your ffmpeg binary is in the right location and that the permissions are properly set.
