missing transport buttons in MediaBrowser on iOS

When I use MediaBrowser in Chrome, everything works well until I actually select a video to watch.

Once selected, I see the video thumbnail like normal, but the playback controls (the play button in the middle of the screen, the stop button. the play/pause button, the scrubber, 6ch/2ch selector, volume control and full screen button) are missing. Big black circle in the middle of the playback window, which does start the movie. Nothing below the video window.

If you start tapping around in the black area below the video, you can get a quick flash of the scrubber, the play/pause button, and the AirPlay switch but it then quickly switches back to black.

Anybody else seeing this behavior? Everything works, I guess, it's just weird.

Thanks for reading, and for your help.

Hi,

did you manage to fix that issue? I'm also facing the exact same problem.

I have not heard anything back since I posted my question.

I'm hoping that the silence indicates the problem is being worked on. :D

Try clearing you browser cache (settings, Privacy in Chrome). If this doesn't work, let us know what version of Serviio. Does it work under Safari?

Having same difficulties in Safari as well.

You won't get much control on iOS as the files are most likely transcoded, and the HTML5 player sees the file as a live stream.

1.9 should include a new html5 player so hopefully the support for ios will be better.

Thanks zip.

@OP I found that perfect player called nPlayer on the App store that plays everything I'm throwing at it. It costs about $10 but I haven't found any video that won't work. Using it on my iPad 2 Mini 3G.
