Win7 v1.8 DirecTV stopped working

Version 1.8 on Windows 7 WAS working but stopped. It's for a DISH Hopper DVR but there's no profile for that.
When it worked it was set to "DirecTV HD-DVR". Now, looking through the Console, I have 3 of those profiles, all "Device Allowed" under Edit. Then there's a few Generic profiles, I dunno. The DirecTV red circles on the left look empty, though, is that correct?

The Serviio service does show up as Running in the Task Manager.
Four Serviio processes show up as running too. Two Console.exe and two Service.exe

The Hopper has a Home Media setting, where Serviio would show up as a server, showing a yellow button. Now the Serviio text is still there but no yellow button and no files show up.

I know no hardware connections have changed, there's still a working pipe from pc to DVR, evidenced by the lame Windows Media Server showing up under Home Media, with a few playable files.

The two devices with the 169.254.x.x indicates a networking issue. Addresses in that range are self-assigned when a device cannot reach a DHCP server for an address assignment. Try rebooting your router, then rebooting the Hoppers. Also make sure the IP address on your Serviio computer hasn't changed to the 169.254.x.x. That would certainly cause a connection issue.

Thanks, yup, sounds like it should work, wish I'd thought of it. But after rebooting the router, the Hopper, and for good measure the PC, I still am missing Serviio in the Hopper's Home Media, only get WMP. My current IP is 50.157.212.185 - not the 169.

On a good note, now I see green in the console status. I wonder if I should Edit/Remove everything that isn't DirecTV? Or, I could UN-RE-install Serviio if I could only remember how to get the DirecTV profile...

Your server should be something in the 10.0.0.x range as well, not a 50.157.212.x range. That sounds like your public IP, which has nothing to do with your internal network.

First, remove off of the devices listed in the console. Click the down arrow next to where it says Edit and select Delete. The next time a device connects to your Serviio server it will repopulate. But that gets the bogus IP addresses out of there.

Next, make sure your Serviio computer IP address is what Serviio is actually using. In the console, go to the bottom of the Status page and look at where it says Bound IP address. It likely says Automatically Detected, but click on it and confirm the IP address shown there is the IP address the computer is using. If you aren't using a static IP on your Serviio computer, I suggest you do so.

It's possible that a Microsoft update (assuming this is a Windows computer) has modified the firewall settings and isn't letting Serviio broadcast properly. If you're uncomfortable messing with the firewall settings, it's likely simplest to uninstall Serviio, reboot to make sure everything is clear, then re-install Serviio. The installer will configure the firewall as necessary.

BACK WORKING NOW, THANKS! First I removed All the devices. Then I rebooted the Hopper. No good. So I uninstalled Serviio then re-installed. It 'knew' about the Hopper, with 3 green button devices and 1 red question-button Unrecognized. The greens all say "XiP813 Hopper" and "Generic DLNA profile", nothing about a DirecTV device. I then set up my media folders and S went to work re-indexing them. Then after yet again another Hopper reboot it now sees Serviio as a media source, with the correct folders, so YAY! :D

I remember from months ago when I first set S up and had problems, I posted and the admin suggested using a DirecTV device profile. I may yet neeed that again, but I can't remember where and how to get profiles. Help?

Looking back on my external for the archived 1.8 installer, I found what may have been the source of the recent failure. I'd been wondering how to hook up S to Online media. I'd found, downloaded, unzipped and installed Serviio Plugins 1.3.1 24.10.2013.zip Maybe that broke S?

Anyway, with that move, I was getting ahead of myself. I need to study the help pages on this.
