Serviio service connecting to 239.255.255.250 blocked?

For the past few hours my Serviio service has been attempting to connect to 239.255.255.250 and it is being blocked by my MalwareBytes program as "malicious". That IP is not available when doing a direct connect or PING so I'm stumped as to the validity of the request OR the security of that site(?).
Anyone else finding this happening?
Regards,
Paul

Well it's a normal part of the UPnP discovery mechanism to send broadcast messages to 239.255.255.250 (Serviio uses UPnP, as does many other services and media servers).
http://www.upnp-hacks.org/upnp.html wrote:When a UPnP capable device joins a network and wants to know what UPnP services are available on the network, it sends out a discovery message to the multicast address 239.255.255.250 on port 1900 via the UDP protocol.
As to why MalwareBytes is blocking it - who knows, but this could be related:
https://forum.quartertothree.com/t/why- ... exe/128739 or
https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/14785/m ... vivaldi/12 - if not, try putting in an exception into MalwareBytes.
