Hi,

I've got a samsung TV that works fine with the generic profile andf another samsung TV that works with the samsung profile. My problem is that the serviio server reset the profile of my devices, either at reboot, or when the TV is disconnect for too long...

Is there a way to force the device profile ? based on IP ? based on device name ? any idea ?

Thannnx !

G.

IP is your best bet. Make the TVs IP static in your router.

I think that perhaps this is somehow relates to the topic discussed here- http://forum.serviio.org/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=22948, regarding Serviio 'forgetting' allowed devices.

My TV has a static IP,
Yet, just as 'Giloum' posted, Serviio kept 'forgetting'/resetting my TV's profile.

I'm currently back to using the generic profile, so it doesn't bother me much,
But, at least for me, having a static IP did not help in resolving this.

If it is of any help, I could try to recreate this again, and send a debug log.
Since, at least for me, it didn't happen at reboot, but after what appears to be a long idle period (i.e. overnight), the log would probably long,
So it would be helpful if you could point me to what service/method/call to look for in the log, to try to narrow it down.

Cheers.

When this happened in the past, people had 2 devices on the same IP (for example the TV itself and also Plex app running on the TV). So Serviio was getting requests for different devices from the same IP and kept overriding the profile for that IP based on the device detection rules - in this case the Plex app would use Generic profile.
