Persistent unknown ip address in "Connected Devices"

Hi! just wanted to check and see if this is happening to anyone else;
I show the ip address 169.254.6.101 in my Connected Devices when using the Serviio console.
This ip address does not belong to either my isp or any of my machines, router, aps, extenders or switches.
I keep removing it with <edit > remove> but it keeps coming back after a day or so.
I am running the latest serviio install (1.9) (pro) on this windows 7 pro machine. The server is sitting behind an extender on my private network (192.168.*).
All my dlna clients can link up and receive the streams as expected.
I used whois to try figuring out where this ip is coming from but I am getting some weird results.

Added info: found a log entry from 2 days ago:
2018-01-26 20:27:25,991 INFO [RendererManager] Stored a new renderer: uuid='mediarenderer-a0_72_2c_72_bd_10', name = 'C41W', ipAddress='169.254.6.101', profile = '1', accessGroupId = '1'

That is all - no other info

Re: Persistent unknown ip address in "Connected Devices"

The 169.254.x.x addresses are used when the computer is unable to retrieve an IP address from your DHCP server, so it sell-assigns something in this range. For most people, your DHCP server is your Internet router. So there's something on your network that isn't able to get an IP address assignment. If you can account for all of your devices, then there's something connected somewhere that isn't working correctly. Try to think of everything that connects to your network and see if one of them isn't reaching the Internet as it should.

@atc98092
Thanks so much for your reply. I did not know that about self-assigning ip addresses using that value. After you said that I went over some of the more odd components on my network and found that one of the
DTV wireless receivers is the cause of it.
Thanks again - really helpful.
